NCC Group has officially been named as one of the security assessment partners for Google’s free email service, Gmail.
Gmail’s security assessment program was created to help Google’s development partners assess and evidence the security of their applications that integrate into Google products through Gmail APIs.
We will be supporting the program by delivering security assessments, which include external network penetration testing, application penetration testing, deployment reviews and policy and procedure reviews, to Google’s development partners.
By providing the assessment, Google gains assurance that any applications integrating through Gmail APIs are of a sufficient security standard, and do not introduce undue security risks to users.
Developers that complete the assessment can gain confidence that their applications and associated assets have been checked for security vulnerabilities and act to remediate any issues, giving users confidence that they have been thoroughly vetted for security risks.
Bryan Solari, Director of Enterprise Accounts at NCC Group, said: “We are proud to have been given the opportunity to positively influence the security of applications integrating through Gmail APIs. “This partnership strengthens our commitment to delivering comprehensive security assessment services to application ecosystems around the world, as part of our mission to make society safer and more secure. It also gives Google’s users assurance that its applications are safe to use and will not put them at undue risk of cyber attacks.”
